Events

Guild membership is required before attending most of our Guild events. All interested parties are invited to attend 2 of our monthly guild meetings prior to joining the Guild.

Monthly Meetings

 

MONTHLY MEETINGS HAVE RESUMED

 

Third TUESDAY of the month in the Link Auditorium of the Bethany Care Centre, 916 18a St NW , Calgary, AB . Doors open at 6:30pm, meeting starts at 7:00pm.Please wear a mask and use the North Entrance(6th floor) Go down to the 5th floor auditorium. This avoids contact with the residents of Bethany.

 

Regular meetings may include mini-workshops, guest speakers, donations to the charity basket and, of course, "Show and Tell".

KNIT AND SHARE
 

 Knit and Share is currently held at different venues that can only be booked 30 days in advance. Check here at the beginning of the month for the next Knit and Share.

Our next Knit and Share is Saturday January 27, 10-3pm At Brentwood Coop Community Meeting Room. The room is in the basement. The stairway is in the Deli area.   4122 Brentwood Rd NW, Calgary

 

We meet from 10am-3pm on the 2nd Saturday of the month.  Knit & Share is free for guild members, no preregistration required.  Workshops held in conjunction with Knit & Share do require pre-registration. Members will receive an email notice of Knit and Share at the beginning of the month.

 

Join this friendly group for a day of enjoyment - knitting, chatting  and inspiration! 

We are not allowed to bring our own food into the Coop meeting rooms but we can buy food and drinks there.

GUILD RETREATS
 

A Fall Retreat is being held 21st - 24th September in the Canalta Hotel in Rocky Mountain House. Contact  gillihookknitters@gmail.com for registration and pricing information.


Spring and Fall Retreats are for current members.

WORLD WIDE KNIT IN PUBLIC DAY

June 10, 2023

In 2023 we joined Stash for their Knit in Public celebration. Stay tuned for 2024 details.

 


CALGARY STAMPEDE: July 2023

Each year we participate in the Celebration of the Guilds, usually on the first Sunday of Stampede Week.  Visitors are encouraged to give knitting a try to get a feel for how satisfying and fulfilling knitting can be. See our personal work displayed in the showcase in our booth.  

Knitting in the Park -currently suspended

Bring your lawn chair, sunscreen and knitting project!   Join us for a day of fun!
