Pattern Suggestions for Charity Items

Our President declared she intends to knit 150 charity items this year, in honor of Canada's 150 years.

**Update** She accomplished her goal with several months to spare!!!

The guild members have been challenged to knit at least one charity item each month. This would be approximately 1200 items this year.

Throughout the year, much knitting is done on a voluntary basis for charities. Guild members and the Busy Fingers group have proven to be very generous with their donated items to seniors, cancer patients, newborn and premature infants and others in need.

Completed items are brought to the meetings where they are distributed to an appropriate agency.

Our Committee for 2017 suggested our focus this year will be for the following groups:

  • Louise Dean School
  • Bethany Care Society
  • Inn from the Cold
  • The Mustard Seed
  • The Calgary Drop-In Centre
  • others as requested by our members.

The items most often requested are hats, mittens, scarves and slippers. Patterns are available in our Newsletters and Monthly Minutes or choose any pattern you enjoy knitting.
